Easy and important action – email your CT Senator / Rep and ask them to support EARLY Voting (HJ-161).

One of the most important election reforms being considered in the state assembly this year is HJ-161, the resolution to amend the state constitution to permit early and no-excuse absentee voting.

**Connecticut is one of only 11 states that offer neither.

To get the early voting question on the ballet in 2020, the resolution must pass both the House and Senate with at least a 75% bipartisan majority vote.

If the resolution passes with less than 75%, the ballot question would be delayed until at least 2022. So its now or we lose another 4 years.

And, please come hear Secretary of the State Denise Merrill at our April 6 2019 Spring Breakfast, speaking on “Elections: Expanding and Securing the Vote,” which will cover the Secretary’s early voting proposal and thoughts about increasing voter participation, as well as cyber security and its role in elections.
