Post-Election Wrap-up

Many congratulations to our successful candidates!

With the election of Ross Tartell, Mike Kaelin, and Chris Stroup, we gained seats on the Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance. We also held our numbers on every board: Ruth DeLuca was elected to the Board of Education, Florence Johnson to Planning and Zoning, Bob Zsunkan to the Board of Assessment Appeals, Sunila Kapur to Zoning Board of Appeals. and Bo Mitchell and Ernie Ricco are re-elected as Constables.

The balance of power on critical boards has shifted, creating a more balanced representation in Wilton. This is significant progress toward our long term goal of moving to the majority.

A very special thank you to Deb McFadden for flying our flag for Vision, Collaboration and Transparency — we know you will continue to make a huge difference to Wilton as you retain your current seat on the Board of Selectmen.  And thank you to each of our other candidates – if competence, ability to move Wilton forward, and hard work were the only criteria, every one of you would have won your races too.

Democrats, thank all of you for all your support during these 2019 elections. With your help we now have a stronger voice in Wilton than we did yesterday. We will continue our progress toward a better Wilton, and toward a better Connecticut and United States.

On to 2020!
