A very welcome piece of good news in the midst of turbulent times: The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the basic civil rights of gay and transgender employees in the workplace.

While Connecticut has had protections for gay employees since 1991, and transgender employees since 2011, it has taken nearly 30 years for those same, full protections to extend to employees in all 50 states.
