Known as Family Bridge, this pilot program aims to ease transition from hospital to home for the parents of newborn babies by giving these families the option of having a nurse or community health worker visit their homes in the immediate days and weeks following birth. One of the best parts of my job is working with bright young people from across our community. I'm pleased to offer a stipend to ease the financial burden of interning on Capitol Hill named for a true public servant who was taken too soon, Kevin Sutherland. I encourage college students and recent graduates with a penchant for public service to apply for my internship program and the KJS scholarship!
