Candidates Forum with League of Women Voters

The Wilton League of Women Voters, the Wilton Library Association, and GOOD Morning Wilton will co-sponsor two events for voters to meet candidates for Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Selectmen, and Board of Education—the three contested offices in the November municipal election. Both evening events—October 18 for Planning & Zoning and October 19 for Boards of Selectmen and Education—will follow a modified town hall format moderated by an out-of-town League moderator who will present questions submitted by the public to all candidates. Both events will begin at 7 pm in the Wilton Library Brubeck Room.

According to LWV Voter Service Chair Karen Birck, Wilton Library Executive Director Elaine Tai-Lauria, and GOOD Morning Wilton Editor Heather Borden Herve, this is an opportunity for voters to meet the candidates who will be making critical town decisions in upcoming years.

The format allows all candidates equal time to introduce themselves, answer all questions posed by the moderator, and highlight their goals for serving the community. Both events will be recorded for re-broadcast on Wilton’s Government Access Channel 79, the Wilton Library Association website, and GOODMorningWilton.com . Registration is suggested by visiting www.wiltonlibrary.org and clicking on “Events” or by calling the library’s Circulation Desk at 203-762-6334. Pre-registrants should arrive by 6:50 p.m. to be guaranteed seating; wait-listed and walk-in registrants will be admitted after 6:50 p.m. if space is available.
