BLUMENTHAL ANNOUNCES TOWN HALL TO URGE SUPPORT FOR PROTECTING SPECIAL COUNSEL

Please join U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal for a Town Hall forum at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 at the University of Connecticut Law School in Hartford to support swift Senate action to protect the integrity and independence of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on bipartisan legislation to protect the special counsel from political interference.

This legislation – and public support for the special counsel – is critically important given President Trump’s escalating threats to remove the special prosecutor or the deputy attorney general. In addition, there has been a concerted effort to subvert and sabotage the special counsel investigation which risk plunging our nation into a Constitutional crisis.

Congress must unite behind bipartisan efforts to ensure the Special Counsel can continue his investigation without interference. Your support is vital to this effort.

Feel free to circulate this invitation. If you plan on attending, please respond to: Michael_jordan@blumenthal.senate.gov
