GOP Senate leaders will not allow any official public hearings, nor will they invite amendments in committee or any bipartisan negotiation. Next to nothing is known now about the content of the bill. Republicans may attempt to jam through a partisan vote as early as next week.

We need as many people as possible to come out on Monday to show GOP leaders that negotiation in secret is unacceptable, and that the American people deserve a chance to have their voices heard.

The House-passed bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act—the American Health Care Act—would strip coverage from 23 million Americans. It would immediately defund Planned Parenthood, denying 2.5 million people access to essential health services. The GOP plan would gut Medicare and leave millions with nowhere to turn for care, including millions of children and individuals receiving treatment for opioid abuse who rely on the program for care. Seniors and individuals with pre-existing conditions would see diminished access to coverage and skyrocketing premiums.
