Connecticut Students for a Dream (C4D), C4D is a youth-led organization that advocates for the rights of immigrant youth and their families in CT. This work is particularly important in the current political climate where our communities are at risk.

Their 5th Annual Educators Conference on Undocumented Students on May 20th. This is a conference that will bring together K-12 teachers, counselors, administrators, social workers, health professionals, college faculty & staff, college access programs, and many others. The focus this year is  Building Unafraid Schools & Communities – we are working  to build schools and organizations where immigrant students feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.

This conference is open to anyone who works with immigrant families and youth in their work or volunteer life, college students interested in roles where they will work with immigrant families, and anyone who wants to learn how to support immigrant students more. It will be a great place to gain knowledge, build skills, and make connections.

At this conference you can expect to get information about:

  • Recent victories for immigrants at the state level, learn what victories have been won and what they mean for youth and families in your communities
  • Tools and resources that you can use in your classroom, in your office, and in your school to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students
  • What C4D is fighting for to allow immigrant youth to #LiveUnafraid including affordable healthcare, an end to detention and deportations, etc… and how educators can engage in these advocacy efforts
